BRISBANE URBAN FARMING HUB

The Brisbane Urban Smart Farming Hub envisions a multi-purpose building that will create a unique and ground-breaking program in the heart of Brisbane City. Inside the structure is a fully functioning urban smart farm with three levels of hydroponic growing areas, production, and packing facilities for various crop species. The building’s internal product, together with whatever is produced locally by private vendors, is sold to Brisbane City residents at the exciting rooftop city market. Urban activity is lifted above the ground plane thanks to the building’s elevated, occupiable green roofs. Residents have a variety of unique places to relax and explore the markets, thanks to the terraced levels and landings. The building’s primary purpose is for production. Still, it also intends to serve as a hub for agricultural and urban farming research and development, a fast-growing field globally. Here, new and improved planting species can be cultivated, and growing methods can be improved. Learning and interactive public areas will engage the public to raise awareness of and spark interest in the urban smart-farm business, which is the project’s principal goal. A facility like this aims to set a global standard for architecture with public service and sustainability as its top concerns.
